Compressive Stress


Parts of cylinder valves (e.g., retainer nut and gland nut) manufactured from Brass are susceptible to stress corrosion cracking or over-stressing, especially if installed in tensile stress.


Components are designed to be assembled in compressive stress and torque values optimized to limit stresses below the material strength. Refer EIGA Safety Info 21/19
